This
past week, Karen Castelein, co-chair of the Friends
and Family Relay for Life team accepted a check for
$756 for the American Cancer Society from Lincoln
Farm & Home manager Rick Wilson.
The money comes from a fundraising event held at
Farm & Home on October 23rd. The annual Ladies Night
Out event included Castelein and co-chair Nila
Smith, offering up free black and pink fanny packs
and pink breast cancer awareness t-shirts donated by
Farm & Home to shoppers and asking for a donation to
the American Cancer Society, to be given at the
table or at the checkout counter.
According to Wilson, all of the Farm & Home stores
participated in similar fundraisers. Wilson said
that while the Lincoln store is one of the smaller
stores, it ranked number three in its fundraising
efforts for the American Cancer Society.
“This is just another example of how Logan County
has proven to be a wonderfully generous community,”
said Castelein.
