Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club
announces scholarship winners

The Warrensburg-Latham Lions
Club awarded scholarships to four seniors at the annual W-L High
School Awards Night.
Ty Jones and Madeline Jones are the recipients of two of those
scholarships. Ty Jones, son of Kevin and Nicole Jones of Decatur,
will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., in the fall.
He plans to major in accounting and minor in forensics. Ty’s
activities as a WLHS student included Track and Field, Business
Club, Student Council, National Honor Society and Fellowship of
Christian Athletes.
Maddie Jones is the daughter of Jeremy and Stephanie Jones of
Forsyth. She will enroll at Illinois State University in the fall
where she plans to major in biomedical sciences, with a goal of
becoming a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Her high school activities
have included basketball, soccer, Green Club, Business Club, Student
Council, Student Advisory and Link Crew.
The W-L Lions Club offers two additional scholarships named in honor
of two dedicated and faithful members: John L. Rotz and Terry R.
Parker. Addison Stacey, daughter of Colby and Mellisa Stacey of
Decatur, is the recipient of the John L. Rotz Scholarship. Addie has
been accepted into Richland Community College’s Radiologic
Technology Program. While at W-L, she has been a member of Band,
Student Council, Business Club, Softball, Tennis and the National
Honor Society.

Warrensburg resident Macey Young,
daughter of Steven and Stacey Young, was awarded the Terry R. Parker
Scholarship. Macey will attend the University of Illinois
Springfield where she will major in criminal justice or pre-law.
Macey has been active in Green Club, Student Council, Business Club,
Freshman Mentor Program, Band, Yearbook and Varsity Basketball and
Soccer.
The Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club scholarship program is made
possible through the club’s various fundraisers, as well as
contributions from local citizens and businesses. Chartered in
January 1958, it is the sole service club organization representing
the Warrensburg-Latham School District. The club is comprised of men
and women who identify needs within the community and work together
to fulfill those needs.
