Logan County Parks Coalition invites community to Fourth Annual Pumpkin Smash & Splash

[October 19, 2026]  Logan County, IL — The Logan County Parks Coalition is excited to continue its fall tradition with the fourth annual Pumpkin Smash & Splash on Saturday, November 14. The event brings the community together for outdoor fun while keeping leftover pumpkins out of the landfill.

Bring your pumpkins to the Lincoln Community Garden Project from 10 a.m. to noon for the Pumpkin Smash. Tools will be provided so participants can safely smash their pumpkins, which will then be composted to enrich local soil and support healthier gardens.

Then, head to Kickapoo Creek Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Pumpkin Splash! Drop your pumpkins from the suspension bridge and watch them make a splash below.

If you’re unable to attend on November 14, you can still participate by dropping off your pumpkins at designated locations throughout Lincoln between November 1–13, 2026:

• Kickapoo Creek Park
• Lincoln Community Garden Project
• Lincoln Park District
• Madigan State Park
