Fatal motor vehicle victim identified
[August 17, 2026]
Logan County Coroner’s Office
and Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal head on
collision that occurred on Old Route 66 and 1500th Avenue near
Lincoln. The driver of one vehicle is identified as 54 year Scott E.
Baxter from Saybrook, Illinois who was pronounced deceased at the
Lincoln Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. An autopsy was performed
on Friday August 14 at the McLean County Regional Medical Facility.
