Mt Pulaski Fall Festival kiddie
tractor pull
[September 15, 2026]
The annual Mt Pulaski Fall
Festival took place on their Courthouse Square this past weekend.
The Logan County Farm Bureau (LCFB) hosts the kiddie tractor pull
competition each year. They provide all the equipment for the kids
to compete.
The LCFB split the competition up into three weight classes, light,
medium, and heavy. In addition to having more weight, each weight
class was for kids of different ages. The lightest weight class was
for the youngest competitors, and the heaviest for the oldest.
The kids got on a small tractor with pedals on it. This tractor was
connected to a contraption on the back that held a small box. The
LCFB staff put differing amounts of weight in the box for each
weight class. As the kids pedaled the tractor, a bike chain would
lift the box up an inclined track. The further the box ascended, the
more difficult it became for the kids to pedal. The back of the
device had a measuring wheel on the back so the LCFB staff could
accurately measure how far each child pulled.
The light weight class had several entrants. The kids had fun trying
their best to pedal the tractor and weights as far as they could.
Some kids made it only a short distance, while some received a “full
pull.” A “full pull” was awarded to any child who made it the full
distance of 40 feet.

Three children in the light weight
class tied for first place, all receiving “full pulls.” To break the
tie, more weight was added and each child pulled again. After
another round of pulling, Gracie Letterly took home 3rd place with
18 feet, Claire Huff got 2nd with 19 feet 9 inches, and Elliot
Neaville received 1st place with a pull of 30 feet 2 inches.
The medium weight class was next, and this was by far the largest. A
total of 20 kids participated in this class. Proud parents were
cheering on their kids as they pulled the tractor and weight as far
as they could. Some parents were recording and taking pictures. The
members of the audience were also very excited. They cheered and
applauded after each child finished their pull, regardless of their
distance.

Johnny Bruntjen took home 3rd place
with a pull of 31 feet 6 inches. Mason McVickers received 2nd place
and managed a pull of 39 feet 9 inches. Silas Rickard just barely
beat out McVickers for first place with the only “full pull” of the
class.

The heavy weight class went last.
The box on the back of the tractor was filled with weight. The kids
each tried their best, but three managed to pull farther than the
rest. Chester Sasse received 3rd place with 35 feet 6 inches, and
Axel Rogers got 2nd with 38 feet 1 inch. Leo Huhrara received first
place with the only “full pull” of the heavy weight class.
