Anything on Wheels a small but fierce car show at the Mt. Pulaski Fall Festival

[September 15, 2026]

The Anything on Wheels car show was hosted at the Mt. Pulaski Fall Festival on Saturday. This year the annual car show saw a lot fewer entries than in years past. Among the show entries were one antique tractor, one golf cart, a couple of vintage family vehicles, one drag-race car and several pure muscle machines and hot rods.

The Barry Leach, vintage Chevelle drag car drew lots of attention from visitors and was nearly the sole occupant of the west side of the street. On the opposite side, Jim Leffler was there with his custom-rebuilt little red and white hot rod roadster.

Cars on hand included a lean and mean black 67 Camaro, a good-looking newer Dodge Charger, and a Boss 302 Mustang. Other cars on hand included a 1957 Ford Fairlane, a vintage Edsel station wagon, a 57 Chevy and a traditional Ford Model A Roadster.

While the show was small, there were several people who enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane as they examined each car. One couple, obviously having been together for many years, joked lightly about the 57 Chevy and their “back seat” adventures when they were youngsters.

Car owners gathered in the shade of the nearby building and shared stories about their cars with visitors and each other.
