Ink & Imprint Books celebrates its first birthday Nov. 29, 2025
Local Book Lovers Are Invited to Join the Birthday Celebration on Small Business Saturday


[November 24, 2025]  LINCOLN, ILLINOIS — Ink & Imprint Books celebrates its first birthday on Sat., Nov. 29, 2025, which also happens to be Small Business Saturday and Indies First day. The bookstore birthday celebration is open to the public.

Ink & Imprint Books will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 29. Sales and giveaways will be offered throughout the day. Birthday cake will be served at 1 p.m. In addition, Holly from the Farm Face Painting will offer free face painting, including special holiday designs, from 1-2:30 p.m.

“The support of local book lovers and indie bookstore enthusiasts during our first year of business has been amazing,” says Julie Bates, owner of Ink & Imprint Books. “This birthday event is a chance to celebrate our customers, who have made our first year of business a wonderful experience. We are truly grateful for our community’s support over the past year and hope we’ll be celebrating Ink & Imprint birthdays for many years to come!”

Small Business Saturday is an annual event that takes place each year as a counterpoint to Black Friday. It is held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving to encourage Americans to support local small businesses. Similarly, Indies First is a national campaign launched in 2013 to encourage readers and shoppers to visit their independent bookstores on Small Business Saturday. By shopping at Ink & Imprint Books and other locally owned businesses on Nov. 29, customers help keep more money in Lincoln and Logan County and contribute to a thriving community.
