Logan County Courthouse celebrates
the Nation's 250th Birthday

As the crowd enjoyed the Sock
Hop-themed 3rd Friday Downtown, they could also head into the
courthouse to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, learn about the
courthouse, and meet local elected officials. The celebration was
hosted by Logan County elected officials and officeholders.
The courthouse was decorated with
red, white, and blue balloons and a large silver “250” balloon
display. Looking up, the 250 complemented the stained glass in the
courthouse dome. Several county officials were on hand to meet and
greet Logan County citizens. The officials and some of their office
representatives were passing out popcorn, ice-cold soda, and water.
They also had a display featuring old court documents and courthouse
records.

Kids were able to enjoy the event,
with craft kits, coloring sheets, and crayons available. One craft
was a flag with glittered stickers to decorate, and the other was a
wooden pinwheel. Children were enjoying coloring the pinwheel and
the coloring sheets of a map of the USA. The children were able to
work on the craft or take their kits home to enjoy.
