Lincoln citizens clean up Downtown
[March 30, 2026]
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, 36
volunteers spent the morning cleaning up downtown Lincoln. The event
was organized by Taylor Lyon and Allysia LeSuer as part of the
Facebook group, Rebuilding Lincoln. The volunteers worked for about
two hours picking up trash around Latham Park, the train station,
the Logan County courthouse, and the sidewalks and streets of
downtown Lincoln.

Before they departed to do their
work, volunteers received cookies from Heart & Flour Bakery and
Value Basket coupons from Culver’s in Lincoln. Seven members of the
GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club joined the group as part of the club’s
environmental committee. Several volunteers from Cresco Labs also
participated. Some volunteers brought their children to teach them
about the environment and civic duty.

Organizer Taylor Lyon explained
that this event and the Facebook group serve “civic-minded
citizens.” She appreciated the turnout for the event, but it was
shorter than planned as the weather was colder and windier than they
had hoped. Lyon also advised that she and LeSeur plan to post a
community survey and announce additional events for the warmer
months. Follow Rebuilding Lincoln on Facebook for updates on
community events and volunteer opportunities.
