Central Illinois lawmakers launch
Classroom Care Drive to support local schools

Springfield, IL — State Senator
Sally Turner (R-Beason), State Representative Regan Deering
(R-Decatur), and State Representative Bill Hauter (R-Morton) are
teaming up to host a Classroom Care Drive to collect everyday
supplies for local teachers and students as they begin a new school
year.
From now through September 30, the lawmakers will collect tissues,
hand sanitizers, wet wipes for hands, disinfecting wipes, and paper
towels at their district offices in Lincoln, Decatur, and Morton.
“Teachers do an incredible job creating classrooms where our
students can learn and succeed, but we know how quickly they can go
through basic supplies throughout the school year,” said Senator
Turner. “Our Classroom Care Drive is a simple way for our
communities to lend a helping hand and make sure teachers and
students have some of the everyday essentials they need.”
“I’m excited to be helping our families prepare for a great school
year and easing some of the financial burden of back-to-school
supplies,” said Representative Deering.
“Families and teachers could use the help and encouragement of the
community with your donations of school supplies,” said
Representative Hauter. “This is a great event; please consider
donating!”
The Classroom Care Drive is accepting donations of:
Kleenex/tissues
Hand sanitizer, including spray, wipes, or gel
Wet wipes for hands
Clorox wipes
Paper towels

The lawmakers encourage residents to participate throughout the
drive and help ensure local classrooms are stocked with supplies
teachers and students rely on for a successful and healthy school
year.
