County Department of Public Health after 30 years
[April 30, 2025]
After 30 years of service
Public Health Administrator Don Cavi is set to retire Wednesday
April 30. His successor is long time LCDPH employee Fay Allison.
Below is an expert from the
upcoming LCDPH newsletter:
"We thank you for taking advantage
of the benefits your health department offers to protect you and
your family! For more information regarding immunizations at LCDPH,
please give us a call at 217-735-2317. For more information
regarding LCDPH services, you can also visit our website.
Finally, this is my final newsletter contribution as I will be
retiring after 30 years of service dedicated to public health. For
just over half of those years, I have enjoyed my time at LCDPH, and
it has been a pleasure working with our great staff and serving you!
Your ongoing support for LCDPH is truly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Don Cavi, MS, LEHP
Public Health Administrator
A Word from the Incoming Administrator
As Don Cavi mentioned in A Final Word from the Administrator, he
retires from the Logan County Department of Public Health on April
30. Following Don’s retirement, I have been promoted to Public
Health Administrator, effective May 1. Don hired me as the first
Vector intern in the Summer of 2012 and helped in my hiring process
when I started full-time with the Logan County Department of Public
Health as the Environmental Health Specialist in April 2015. I am
grateful to Don for his mentorship and training through the years.
It is with great admiration and appreciation that we wish him the
best of luck in his next chapter in life. This transition marks a
continued commitment to enhancing community health and wellness. I
look forward to building upon the strong foundation laid by my
predecessor and working towards innovative public health
initiatives.

For those of you
who do not know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Fay
Allison. I was born and raised here in Logan County. I will be
graduating from Illinois State University on May 10 with my
Master of Public Health. I have worked in the Environmental
Health division of LCDPH for ten years. In 2020, I took on a
dual title, adding the Emergency Response Coordinator role to my
duties. I had the opportunity to meet many of our community
members during our COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics and look
forward to continuing to serve Logan County in the years to
come.
Sincerely,
Fay Allison, LEHP"
