Paws on Parade at Atlanta Fall
Festival
[September 22, 2026]
The bandstand was the place to be
on Saturday afternoon, full of fun activities during the Atlanta
Fall Festival. First up was the Paws on Parade contest.
Contestants were invited to bring
their pets and show off their best tricks and costumes. The contest
categories were: Best Trick, Cutest Baby Animal, Best Costume,
Pet/Owner Duo, Cat’s Meow, Largest Pet, Smallest Pet, Pop Culture
Dog, Most Interesting/Unique, and Crowd Pleaser. Each winner
received a medal and a gift card to Walmart, sponsored by Chris
Coyne State Farm.
Abby and Bernadette won the first category, Best Trick; however,
Bernadette suffered a little stage fright. They also won the
Pet/Owner Duo contest, dressed as the Hot Dog Man and the Hot Dog.
Muffin, the three-month-old tiger kitty, won Cutest Baby Animal.
Muffin was dressed as an American Girl Doll. Cats Gizmo and Oliver
won Best Costume. Gizmo also took home the Cat’s Meow award. The
kitty couple also took home the medal for Pop Culture as they were
dressed as astronauts from the movie Project Hail Mary. Kai and Jax,
the German Shepherds, won Largest Pet Dogs. Kai is well known in the
community because he enjoys golf-cart rides. Theo, the
three-week-old, cream-colored kitten, won Smallest Pet. Ricky the
ferret won Most Interesting Pet. Polly the chicken won crowd
pleaser.
