Friday night fun at the Atlanta Fall Festival

[September 16, 2025]  It was a balmy evening at the 75th Atlanta Fall Festival Friday, September 12, but that did not keep the crowds away.

Atlanta park was filled with children enjoying rides like the rock-a-plane, Ferris wheel, spinning bees, spinning hearts, little cars and fun junction.

There were also several games such as a cork shooting game where players tried to knock down red solo cups, the strongman game to test their strength, a game of skill played with quarters, a duck pond and a Spiderman game.

Each game had prizes for the winners. For instance, in the cork shooting game, winners could choose small stuffed animals if they hit one cup and larger ones if they hit three cups. For younger kids, there was a kiddie pool filled with small pool noodle and a ladders game. At one end of the park, many adults were playing the ever popular Bingo game.

Several food trucks were set up selling festival fare that included burgers, corndogs, pork chops, corn dogs, popcorn and fries. There were also sweet treats like elephant ears, funnel cakes, cotton candy, lemonade shakeups and ice cream. There was also a group from Atlanta selling walking tacos and pulled pork nachos and kids in 4-H selling soda and water.

Additionally, the Atlanta firefighters were selling a meal of pork chops, baked potatoes and beans or hot dogs and chips. For dessert, there were many sweet treats to choose from.

Under the pavilion, there were several vendors selling items such as jewelry, customized shirts, crocheted animals, tumblers, fall décor and 3D printed objects. One table had a “fill the van” food pantry donation drop-off. A vendor near the pavilion was selling Western novelties.

In one part of the pavilion Atlanta Public Museum Director Amy Wertheim was taking orders for the engraved sidewalk project. The 2025-2026 memorial project will honor Atlanta High School alumni, Atlanta Olympia alumni, Atlanta military and veterans, Atlanta citizens and Atlanta businesses with engraved bricks. 4 x 8 bricks cost and 8 x 8 bricks cost $100. Order forms can be picked up at the museum or found on the Atlanta Public Museum Facebook page.

Other tables under the pavilion had Bossy Bingo Square sales, 50-50 and merchant drawing sales and bucket chance raffle ticket sales. The raffle baskets were filled with items donated by area businesses.

In the middle of the park, people could even pose for photos behind either a small cutout of the Atlanta water tower, the hotdog guy or Lumi the pie gal.

It was a great night to be out enjoying fall festival fun and visiting with friends.
