Champaign Central trounces Lincoln 13-3
The Champaign Central Maroons defeated Lincoln 13-3 on Friday at
Schweitzer Field.
The Maroons were out to a 10-0 lead after their half of the fifth
inning.
Lincoln kept the game alive with a run in the bottom of the fifth
inning after Addy Mahler doubled and Norah Block hit an RBI single.
Lily Holmes scored the run.
A two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning put the Maroons up
12-1.
Again the Lady Railers kept the game alive with two runs in the
bottom of the sixth inning.
Emma Hutchison singled and Grey Gilbert tripled to drive her in with
a run. Laurynn Mayberry hit a sacrifice fly to center to score
Gilbert to make the score 12-3.
The Maroons plated a final run in the seventh inning and after
retiring Lincoln in the bottom of the inning, Champaign Central
boarded the bus 13-3 winners.
Norah Block was the losing pitcher. She worked two and one-third
innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. She struck out two
batters.
Laurynn Mayberry worked four and two-thirds innings, giving up nine
hits and six runs. Five runs were earned. She walked five and struck
out six batters.
Lincoln had four hits versus 16 hits by the Maroons.

Grey Gilbert, Addy Mahler, Norah Block and Emma Hutchison had
Lincoln’s hits.
Haley Helm was the winning pitcher for Champaign Central. She struck
out ten Lady Railers.
Lincoln fell to 9-6.
Champaign Central improved to 11-3.

Rantoul beats Lincoln 8-1
Lincoln lost 8-1 to the Rantoul Eagles on Saturday and it was not
pretty.
The Lady Railers committed six errors and had six hits while just
plating one run.
Lincoln scored their run in the top of the sixth inning when Sage
Gilbert led off with a double and she scored on Grey Gilbert’s
single and error committed by Rantoul.
The Eagles had five extra base hits versus Lincoln.
Addy Sherrick had home runs in the fifth and sixth innings for
Rantoul.
Silver Button, Jozelynn Ozier and Bionca Walton had doubles for
Rantoul, who led 6-0 after five innings. The Eagles plated two more
runs in the sixth inning.
Bionca Walton was the winning pitcher. She tossed the complete game
while striking out seven and walking two.
Sage Gilbert led Lincoln with a double and triple.
Grey Gilbert, Addy Mahler, Morgan Sheley and Emma Hutchison also had
hits.
Norah Block took the loss for Lincoln. Block threw four and
one-third innings, giving up five hits and five earned runs. She
struck out two batters.
Laurynn Mayberry worked an inning and two-thirds, giving up three
hits and two earned runs. She walked three and struck out three.
Lincoln fell to 9-7 on the season.
The Lady Railers will host Athens Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Schweitzer
