Panthers win the 2026 Logan County
Baseball Championship

The
Chester East Lincoln Panthers won the 2026 Logan County Baseball
Tournament by defeating Mount Pulaski 9-5 on Saturday, September 12,
2026.
Cruze Komnick earned the win for the Panthers and he started the
game by striking out the side in the first inning.
Komnick then drove in the first run of the game in the bottom of the
first inning on an RBI single.
The Panthers would plate six runs in all in the bottom of the first
inning as Bennett Wilson slugged an RBI triple, Logan Koester
contributed an RBI single and Asher Morris came up clutch with a
two-run double. Case Sutton scored the sixth run on a wild pitch.
Komnick faced four batters in the second inning and struck out three
of them.
The Panthers added two more runs in the fourth inning.
Komnick hit an inside-the-park home run to give CEL a 7-0 lead.
Owen Coleman scored on a wild pitch to put the Panthers in command
with an 8-0 lead.
Jameson Leonard hit an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning to
put Mount Pulaski on the board. Leonard scored a run on a ground out
by Easton Deibert that made the score 8-2.
Case Sutton scored the Panthers’ final run in the bottom of the
fifth inning on a passed ball.

The Toppers added two more runs in the sixth inning
and one run in the seventh inning but the Panthers had no trouble
hanging on for the 9-5 win.
In the semifinals of the county tournament, the Panthers beat West
Lincoln Broadwell 8-4 on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Cruze Komnick struck out ten batters as the winning pitcher versus
WLB.
Congratulations to the Panthers for bringing back the county
championship to the East side!
