- Donald Dean Wolpert, 82, of Lincoln, IL, (formerly of Beason),
passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital
South, St. Louis, MO.

Obituary
Donald Dean Wolpert,
82, of Lincoln, IL, (formerly of Beason), passed
away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Barnes Jewish
Hospital South, St. Louis, MO.
Don was born November 26, 1942, in Lincoln, IL, the
son of Marion C. and Louise (Koester) Wolpert. He
married Shirley Funk on January 18, 1964, in
Lincoln. She survives.
Don is also survived by his two daughters, Christine
(Todd) Nobbe, Dawn (Mark) Bittermann; two
granddaughters, Emma Nobbe and Kathryn Nobbe; and
two sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Greathouse, and Joan
Pillar.
He is preceded in death by his parents; five
brothers, Kenneth, Robert, Charles, Larry, and
Alvin; and one sister, Patricia.
Don worked for the United States Postal Service in
Lincoln for 28 years before retirement. He was a
member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln and
the Beason Sportsman Club for many years. |

He was an avid sports
fan. His teams were the Chicago Bears, St. Louis
Cardinals, Fighting Illini, and the Boston Celtics.
He and Shirley enjoyed taking many trips together
with friends and family. Most of all, he loved being
with his family, especially his granddaughters, Emma
and Kathryn.
Funeral Services for
Don will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 24,
2025, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln with Terry Davis officiating. Visitation
will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from
2:00 to 4:00 pm also at the funeral home. Burial
will follow the funeral service at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Don’s
memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
