Obituary

Victoria Costero, 53, of Caracas, Venezuela, passed away peacefully at her home in Chatham, Illinois, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Born on June 8, 1972, in Caracas, Venezuela, Victoria was the beloved daughter of Trina Molina and the late Jose Santana Costero.

In 2017, Victoria migrated to the United States with the hope of building a better life for herself and her beloved daughter, Valentina. Her strength, perseverance, and unconditional love were her daily driving force — her “motor”— as she worked tirelessly to create a life filled with love, faith, and opportunity.

Victoria faced ovarian cancer with remarkable courage, grace, and faith. Even in her final months, she found her greatest purpose: to inspire others to love themselves, to trust in God, and to live each day with positivity and gratitude. Her light and faith became a living example of hope that continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be remembered for her kind and joyful spirit, her love of baking and hosting celebrations, and her gift for spreading warmth wherever she went. She found happiness in attending church, uplifting others with her words, and spending time with her loyal dog, Akira, who was her faithful companion and source of comfort.

She is survived by her daughter, Valentina Arrieche; her sister, Lisbeth Molina; and her mother, Trina Molina.

Victoria’s life was a reflection of love, strength, and grace. Her legacy of faith and positivity will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.

A Memorial Mass service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at St. Joseph the Worker Church 700 E Spruce St. Chatham, IL, 62629.

A celebration of life will be held after Memorial Mass. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Following the services, her remains will be returned to her homeland of Venezuela for burial in the city of Caracas.
