[October 02, 2026]  SHERMAN -  Darolyn "Sue" Franz, 75, of Sherman, passed away September 29, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation: Monday, October 5, 2026, from 9 - 10 a.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Service: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary

Darolyn "Sue" Franz, 75, of Sherman, passed away September 29, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be from 9 AM until 10 AM Monday, October 5, 2026, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM with Pastor Shane Sims of Williamsville Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, San Jose, IL.

Sue was born May 21, 1951, in Canton, IL., the daughter of Darold and Charlotte (Bunch) Lynn. She married Michael Gregory Franz on September 12, 1971. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2017.
 
She graduated from San Jose High School in 1969 and later from Greenville College. She was an ordained minister and remained faithful all of her life. Sue was a long-time member of Emden Christian Church and more recently was a member of Destiny Church in Springfield, IL. She was employed in the Central Office for Christian Homes in Lincoln, IL. for many years. Sue enjoyed quilting, sewing, and travel. She traveled to all of the 50 states and to Honduras on a missions trip where her heart led her to faithfully support Montana de Luz orphanage.

 

Survivors include her children: Jennifer (Clint) Warnisher, Nathan (Abby) Franz, and Megan (JR) Solivan; grandchildren: Elaine Warnisher, Chet Warnisher, Nolan Franz, Evan Franz, and Madison Solivan; great grandson Dale Graff; siblings Debbie (Mike) Evans, Mark Lynn, and Diana (Jeff) Blane. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Montana de Luz at PO Box 410 Worthington, OH, 43805 or to the American Cancer Society and will also be accepted at the funeral home.
