HARTSBURG —
John Ray Schleder of Hartsburg, Illinois, loving Father,
Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, and Friend, passed away on September
30th, 2025.

Service:
John requested no services be held. A Celebration of
Life will be held at a later date.
Obituary
John Ray Schleder of Hartsburg,
Illinois, loving Father, Grandfather, Uncle,
Brother, and Friend, passed away on September 30th,
2025. He leaves behind his daughter, Kimberly
Schleder; son, Christopher Schleder (Rod Stone); two
granddaughters, Lillian Escobedo and Abigail
Montgomery (Little One); the mother of his children,
Mona (Shirley) Schleder; two sisters, Carol Babbs
and Cheryl Miller (Galen); nieces, nephews, and
friends who love him. He is now with his son, Ryan
Matthew Schleder. He was also preceded in death by
his parents Herbert and Evelyn Schleder, and his
brother, Ronald Schleder.
John farmed with his Father, Brother, and Nephew
nearly his entire life. Farming wasn't a job or even
a career for John. It was a way of life to be One
with the Land and Nature. Being on the farm helped
set the values and traditions John shared with his
family and friends: If it's worth doing, it's worth
doing right; Hard work is worth it; and always pay
attention to the weather.
John was a faithful man and was ready to enter the
Kingdom of Heaven. He will live on in the memories
of those who were blessed to know that he accepted
everyone, was brave enough to show his emotions, and
cared for many as his own family.
We will miss you and always love you Dad, Grandpa,
Papo, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
