Obituary

Mt. Pulaski - Joseph Eugene “Joe” Plotke, 41, of Mt. Pulaski, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his home.

Joe was born May 4, 1984, in Decatur, IL, the son of John Plotke Sr. and Shelly (James) Rich. They both survive.

Joe is also survived by his daughter, Riley Jo (Glenn Shelton Jr.) Plotke; son, Jamison Eugene Plotke; stepson, Walker Sturgeon; grandchildren, Serenity Shelton and Trinity McCawley; ex-wife, Shanna Sturgeon; brothers, Jeffrey Plotke and Cameron Felton; sisters, Christina Plotke and Cindy Tennison; stepbrothers, Aaron, Nathan, Jeremy, and Mark Rich; stepsister, Penny Plotke; grandfather, Wilbur (Gaila) Felton; step-grandfather, Dick Brockman; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, James “Jamie” Plotke; grandmother, Ramona Miles; grandparents, Bill and Jean Plotke; step-grandmother, Ellen Brockman.

Joe enjoyed camping, working on car engines, and carpentry. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date. A private urn burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton, IL, where Joe will be laid to rest next to his twin brother, Jamie. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
