Obituary
Byron J. Jodlowski,
81, of Atlanta, passed away at St. Clara’s Rehab and
Senior Care Center on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday,
September 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Atlanta with Rev. Joseph
Dondanville officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27,
2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in Atlanta. A prayer service will
begin at 4:40 p.m.
Burial will be at the Atlanta Cemetery at a later
date.
Byron John was born December 9, 1944, the son of
Edward J. and Harriett Johnson Jodlowski. He was
united in marriage to Alice M. Berroth on July 15,
1967. She preceded Byron in death on September 6,
2016.
Byron is survived by one son, Ed (Colleen) Jodlowski;
“adopted” son, Greg (Melodye) Crabtree; grandsons:
Cameron (Katherine Taylor), Evan (Molly Kelleher),
Kenyon (Alison), and Griffen (Ashley McDougall); one
great-granddaughter, Elsie Jo; brothers-in-law,
James Berroth and Bruce (Mary) Berroth;
sister-in-law, Ruth Wille; and special
grandchildren: Jacub Kolmasiak and Cassie Crabtree.

He was preceded in
death by his wife; parents, and one sister, Mary F.
Bischoff.
Byron was a 1962
graduate of Atlanta High School. He served in the
United States Air Force from 1964 – 1968. In
addition to raising Hampshire hogs and dairy goats,
Byron worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria and
was also a Ham radio operator (N9BVG). He was a
member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Atlanta.
Byron was a big supporter of local FFA and 4-H
clubs, and a former leader for Atlanta Town &
Country 4-H Club. He was also active with Atlanta
American Legion Post #341.
Memorials may be made to Logan County 4-H
Foundation.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
