[September 09, 2026]  MIDDLETOWN - LeeAnn Nelson, 65, of Middletown, IL, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at her home with her husband by her side.

Service:  A graveside service for LeeAnn will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown.

LeeAnn Nelson, 65, of Middletown, IL, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at her home with her husband by her side.

LeeAnn was born on December 24, 1960, in Lincoln, the daughter of Jean Godby. LeeAnn Kacshak “Scooter girl” married Shawn Nelson on June 28, 1980, at Middletown United Methodist Church.

LeeAnn and Shawn had two daughters, Elizabeth Ash and Martha (Kyle) Shaub.

She is survived by her husband, daughters, and five granddaughters, Kaylee Ash, Becca Ash, (Sebastian Wilburn) Chloe Ash, Eldon “Raige” Barger, Abygail Shaub, Zoe Shaub; and one great grandson, Malakai Wilburn.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, grandparents that raised her, Frank and Martha Kacshak; and her three angel babies.

LeeAnn was one of the three founders of Middletown Rescue Squad, a trustee of the Middletown Village Board, and a creative floral designer at various flower shops from 1980 - 2023. One of her passions in life was being a part of charities, clubs, and foundations. She loved her flower and vegetable garden, mushroom hunting, motorcycles, outdoor animals, and most of all, her loving family.

A graveside service for LeeAnn will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown. Memorials may be made in LeeAnn’s name to her family in ℅ Shawn Nelson, that will be donated to her favorite charities per her wishes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral.
