Marilyn A. Jones Alderman, 90,
formerly of Lincoln, passed away July 2, 2025, in
Pigeon Forge, TN.
Graveside services will be held at
11 AM Saturday, September 13, 2025 in New Union
Cemetery, Lincoln.

Marilyn was born March 13, 1935, in Clark County,
IL., the daughter of Ellis Finley and Mildred A.
(Merrick) Finley. She married Floyd D. Jones on May
10, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2002.
She married Roma Gerald Alderman on November 6,
2005. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2015.
Marilyn worked for the state of Illinois for 30
years as a data entry supervisor. In 1972 she was
awarded employee of the year for all of Illinois.
She enjoyed baking. She was a member of Park Meadows
Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and
sang in the choir.
Survivors include her daughters: Marilyn Bertram
(David), Vickie Loafman (Tim), and Cynthia Jones;
grandchildren: Nathan French, Adam French, Brittany
Foley, Tiffany Johnson, Jeremiah Duncan, Amy
Ghilardi, Isaiah Duncan, Benjamin Duncan, Rebeka
Sibert, and Hailey Bertram Tipton; great
grandchildren: Shyann Foley, Carson Newell,Paisley
Newell,Taylor Newell, Ivory French, Ezra French, Ava
French, Ezekiel French, Preston Ross, Blake Duncan,
Kiera Duncan, Maddox Duncan and Noah Duncan |
Great grands. great grands. Three
great great granddaughters Ryleigh Bertram, Shelby
Rae Bertram, and Penelope Tipton also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands,
sisters Maxine Kirkley, Donna Dambacher, and Ruth
Wilson, and grandson Timothy Foley.
