Obituary
Greg A. Rutherford,
62, of McLean, passed away at his home on Wednesday,
July 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Services for Greg will be held at Ebenezer Methodist
Church in rural McLean. Visitation will be on
Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday, August 1, 2026, led by Rev. Deborah J.
Johnston and Mr. Tony Billingsley. Burial will then
take place at Funks Grove Cemetery in rural McLean.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Greg A. Rutherford was born, April 3, 1964, in
Bloomington, the son of James L. and Arlene O. Rahe
Rutherford. He was united in marriage to Rondy Ann
Coomer on October 28, 1989.
Greg is survived by his wife, Rondy; their children:
Jakeob (Lynsey) Rutherford and Jessica (Logan)
Belgrave; two grandchildren: Murphy and Foster; his
mother, Arlene; one brother, Shane (Marlene)
Rutherford, and one nephew, Leighton Rutherford.
He was preceded in death by his father. |
Greg was a 1982
graduate of Olympia High School. He worked for the
City of McLean for nearly 37 years in the water and
street works department. In his spare time, he
enjoyed hunting, guns, archery, and being outdoors,
and spending time with his family. Greg was a member
of Ebenezer Methodist Church. He had a servant’s
heart and never backed down from a challenge.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Hope-Funks Grove Fire
Department.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
