Mary’s Cemetery on 5th Street in Lincoln, IL There
will be a Celebration of Life at the Legion starting
at 11:30 am.

Obituary
Trusting in the
promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, we
remember with thanksgiving what God accomplished
through the life of His servant, Jeff.
Jeffrey “Jeff” Robert Jordan, 64, of Boulder City,
NV, was called home to heaven on Saturday, June 27,
2026, at his home, spending his final hours with his
wife of 34 years by his side. Jeff lived a life
marked by unwavering faith, deep love for his
family, and quiet generosity.
Jeff was born in Ames, IA on June 2, 1962, to Donald
Jordan and Janice (Smith) Jordan. He was baptized as
a child of God on September 9, 1962, and confirmed
in the Christian faith on May 16, 1976. He married
Jennifer Farmer on September 21, 1991, and God
blessed them with four children. Although his final
home was Boulder City, he lived in Iowa, Missouri,
Illinois, Georgia, Massachusetts, and California.
Jeff is survived by his wife; children, Amanda Billy
of Santa Barbara, CA, Mitchell (Brittney) Billy of
Dallas, GA, Drew (Megan) Jordan of Biloxi, MS, and
Nicole (Russell) Baade of Newbury Park, CA;
grandchildren, Bristol Billy, Arthur, Calvin
Jeffrey, and Violet Baade, and Tessmer Robert
Jordan; and sister, Debra Jordan of
Lincoln, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jeff graduated as valedictorian from Lincoln High
School in 1980 before earning a Bachelor of Science
in Business Administration with a concentration in
Actuarial Science from Drake University in 1984. By
the age of 25, he had passed all of the actuarial
examinations, becoming the youngest person to become
a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society at the
time. He enjoyed a distinguished 40-year career as a
property and casualty insurance actuary. After being
a partner at Ernst & Young, Jeff started Jordan
Actuarial Services in 2003, building a highly
successful consulting practice. One of God’s
greatest blessings to Jeff was the opportunity to
work from home for the final 20 years of his career,
allowing him to attend nearly every sporting event
and milestone in the lives of his children before
retiring in 2024. |
Jeff loved to travel
with his wife and children. His favorite adventures
were following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals to
new ballparks and hiking through America’s national
parks. A meticulous planner, he delighted in reading
travel guides cover to cover and creating detailed
itineraries to make the most of every destination.
Before ALS ended his travels, Jeff visited 23 of the
30 Major League stadiums, 51 of the nation’s 63
national parks, 48 of the 50 states, and numerous
countries around the world.
Music was another of
Jeff’s greatest passions, and sharing his quirky,
eclectic taste with his family brought him
particular joy. He built an iTunes library of more
than 15,000 songs, continually searching for new
artists and hidden gems to share with Drew and
Nicole through his thoughtfully chosen “Song of the
Day” YouTube videos. He enjoyed seeing artists live,
ranging from The Cars to “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Jeff loved statistics,
lists, and the simple satisfaction of keeping track
of the things that interested him. He maintained
extensive wine, movie, and album lists, and he
happily devoted countless hours to managing his
fantasy baseball and football teams.
Anyone who knew Jeff will remember him for his dry,
quick wit and his strong Christian faith.
