Obituary

Beverly Ann (Newberry) Brown, 64, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with Pastor Casey McCormick officiating.

Beverly was born October 12, 1961, in Lincoln, IL., the daughter of Jerry and Brenda (Shelton) Newberry. She was the beloved wife of Michael Brown whose love and devotion remained steadfast through every season of life. Together they built a wonderful life full of fun and adventure.

Beverly will be missed by her husband Michael Brown, daughter Michelle (Joel) Green, son Chris Brown; grandchildren: Sloan, Mazie, and Rafe Green and Alanea Cyrulik, Tanner Bishop, and Addison Brown; brother Rick Newberry and sister-in-law Barb Newberry (Les Gates).

Beverly graduated from LCHS in 1979 and Lincoln College in 1992 where she was co-valedictorian. She was the recipient of the Lorraine Maconaghie Literature Award and the Earl and Pearl McKeever Science Award. She graduated from Mennonite College of Nursing in 1994. Beverly devoted her career caring for others with compassion and dedication in the ICU and Open-Heart Recovery units at BroMenn Regional Medical Center.
 

Although Beverly faced the challenge of Multiple Sclerosis she fought with courage and determination to make the most of every moment. Throughout her life Beverly enjoyed traveling, especially spending winters with Michael in Florida where she found peace, sunshine and happiness. She also enjoyed fishing, following the Chicago Cubs, and frozen Cokes.

A woman of faith, Beverly found comfort and purpose in her relationship with God throughout her life.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Wounded Warriors and will be accepted at the funeral home.
