Obituary
Alice Elaine Morris,
72, of Lincoln, Illinois, passed away peacefully on
Monday, June 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving
family.
Born on December 18, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana,
she was the daughter of the late Dean Dwane Smith
and Eleanor Anne (Adams) Smith. She precedes her
siblings, Judith Diane Bean (Keith) Texas, David
Dean Smith (Paula) Lincoln, Il, Paul Mark Smith
(Barb) Georgia, and Daniel John Smith Starkville,
Ms. After her parents served in several ministries
in Illinois, and Texas, they settled in Mississippi.
She married Charles “Bo” Wiyckliffe Morris on
September 28, 1973. In 1976 they relocated to
Lincoln, Illinois with their two oldest daughters
and have actively been a part of the Lincoln
community and Jefferson Street Christian Church to
this day.
Alice devoted her life to being a loving and
supportive wife and mother of 4 children. She was
known for her tenacious spirit, attention to
details, and willingness to serve her local church
and community in any way possible. She often could
be found in the local orchestra playing the Cello,
in the sporting stands cheering on her children and
more recently her grandchildren, singing in the
church choir, teaching Sunday School, sewing,
crocheting, making items for friends and family, or
spending her retirement years traveling on mission
trips with her husband, Bo. She took great joy in
spending time with loved ones and keeping up with
her grandchildren’s accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and
Eleanor Smith, and her daughter Christina Leeanne
Morris.

She leaves behind a
legacy of love and will be deeply missed by her 3
living children: Elizabeth “Beth” Morris, Angela (Papo/Ysrael)
De la Cruz, and Dwane (Tara) Morris; her 6 cherished
(biological) grandchildren: Charles Thomas Morris,
Jayden Nicole De la Cruz, Arianna Christine Morris,
Josiah Anibal De la Cruz, Thetus James (TJ) Morris,
and Asher Wade Morris; along with a few more she
gladly adopted as grandchildren and a wide circle of
extended family and friends.
Visitation for Alice will take place at Jefferson
Street Christian Church on Tuesday, June 30, 2026,
from 4:30 - 7:30 pm.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in late
July at Jefferson Street Christian Church, located
at 1700 N. Jefferson St., Lincoln, Illinois. Friends
and family are invited to attend and share their
favorite memories of Alice.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charles
Morris to cover medical expenses.
