Jean is survived by her children, daughters Mary (Ron) Harmsen of Emden, Jane (Greg) Fox of Marietta, GA, Gail (Don) Vitek of Elmhurst, Anne (Dan) Conrady of Rochester, IL, Ruth Brackney of Kansas City, MO, and Amy (Steve) DiLullo of Lincolnshire; her 16 grandchildren Amanda (Alex) Kalogrides, John (Kristen) Harmsen, Rachel (James) Collins, Katelyn (Luke) Peifer, Ben (Abby) Conrady, Jill Fox, Will Conrady, Andrew (Claire) Vitek, Grace Vitek, Adam Conrady, Gretchen Vitek, Robert Vitek, Robert (Garych) Fox, Jackson Brackney, Lauren Brackney, and Audrey DiLullo; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Jean was married to Andrew “Warren” Peters, for 51 wonderful years until his death in 2012. They met in Lincoln and enjoyed attending University of Illinois football games while they were courting. Warren and Jean purchased their house in Lincoln on Union Street where they raised their 6 daughters and where she remained for 63 years until her final days. Traveling across the country in their station wagon with their family in tow was a highlight of their life. As their family grew and moved out of the house, they enjoyed visiting them often. The holidays were also a special time for them when their large family would come home to visit. The house was known for having candles in the windows every year during the holiday season.

Jean was the 2nd oldest of six children and is survived by her siblings Jeffrey Fults, Dr. Robert Fults, and Marilyn “Doody” Newberry. Her oldest sister Eleanor “Snooks” Feldman and her youngest brother, Donald Fults, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Warren” Peters.

Jean attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and Lincoln Community Hight School. She worked at Merle Norman Cosmetics in Lincoln before marrying Warren and raising their 6 daughters.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, especially Joyce, Judy, and Barb, as well as her frequent visitor Carol.
