Obituary
Patty J. McCann, 89, of Lincoln,
IL, passed away at 4:45am, May 9th, 2025, at Hospice
House in Sarasota, Florida.
Patty was born on May 14th, 1935, in Emden, IL, to
George and Mabel Wagner. She graduated from
Hartsburg - Emden High in 1953. Patty and Don McCann
were married in 1956 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
in Emden, IL. They were happily married for 60
years. Patty enjoyed many different crafts and her
flower garden. She taught Sunday School in her high
school years. She was a loving mother who enjoyed
her family very much and especially her grandson,
Drew Jones. She retired from Lincoln Developmental
Center where she worked in business office as a
secretary.
Patty is survived by her son, Kim (Janice) McCann of
Sarasota, FL; grandson, Drew Jones of Springfield,
IL; and sister-in-law, Betty Gail Wagner of Emden,
IL. She is also survived by step-granddaughter,
Karen Adame; step great-grandchildren, Cody, Logan,
Kaydin; and step great-great-granddaughter, Harper;
along with many nieces and nephews. |
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Don; daughter, Amy; and her siblings, Wayne
(Marianne) Wagner, Donald Wagner, Bernice (Dr.
Walter) Rettberg, Georgia Ann Harms (Donald Wagner).
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday,
May 28, 2025, at St. John’s United Church of Christ
in Lincoln. Visitation will take place one hour
prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
Burial will follow the service at New Union Cemetery
in Lincoln. Memorials may be made in Patty’s name to
Shriners Children’s Hospital. Local arrangements
have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
