Obituary
Donna J. Taylor, 91, of Springfield,
IL, passed away at 9:20 am on Friday, May 16, 2025,
at Liberty Village of Jerseyville, IL, surrounded by
her loving children.
Donna was born May 26, 1933, in Middletown, IL, the
daughter of Paul and Belva (Shehorn) Ritchhart. She
graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1951.
She married Ronald C. Taylor on July 11, 1952. Donna
worked from home while raising her family. Later she
worked alongside Ron while owning Culligan Water
Dealerships in Shelbyville and Mt. Pulaski. After
retiring, they both enjoyed traveling to festivals,
camping, and spending time with their family. They
were inseparable as a loving couple and devoted
parents and grandparents.
Donna had a love for birds, especially cardinals,
and hummingbirds. She enjoyed reading, flower
gardening, and crocheting countless Afghans for
family.
Donna is survived by her children, Rick (Debra)
Taylor of Alton, IL, Rhonda (Mark) Camfield of South
Bend, IN, Stephen Taylor of Hot Springs, AR, and
Lisa A. (and Michael) Mills of Ocala, FL. Donna’s
pride and joy was always her ten grandchildren and
eighteen great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived
by her siblings, Dorothy Carlen of Bloomington, IL,
and John Ritchhart of Decatur, IL; her loving nieces
and nephews whom she adored; and she was a “sweet
mama” to her honorary daughter, Terri Phelps of
Springfield, IL. |

She was preceded in death by her
husband, parents, sister, Mary Long; and her
brothers, Donald Ritchhart and Clarence Ritchhart.
Donna was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.
Funeral services for Donna will be held at 11:00 am
on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with
Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will be held two
hours prior to the service from 9:00 am to 11:00 am,
also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the
service at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. Memorials
may be made in Donna’s name to the Lincoln Christian
Church or the American Cancer Society.
