[May 21, 2025]  LINCOLN -  Rhoda Elizabeth Holland, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home in Lincoln.

Visitation: Monday, May 26, 2025, from 4 - 7 p.m. at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Service: Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln.

Obituary

Rhoda Elizabeth Holland, 83, of Lincoln, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home in Lincoln.

Rhoda's funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church, 301 Pekin Street, with Rev. Dr. Adam Quine officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Monday, May 26, 2025, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Rhoda was born May 10, 1942, in Lincoln, the daughter of Donald G. and Mildred (Rhoads) Holland. Surviving is one sister, Martha Holland, of Lincoln. Also surviving are close friends, Ginny and Chuck McGee, Joel (Jacquelyn) Ritchhart, Robert (Jill) Awe, special friends and neighbors, Whitney and Ben Rekart. Rhoda was Aunt Rhoda to Lane (Kurt) Hullinger, Case (Natalie) McGee, and Presley Rekart. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Rhoda graduated from Lincoln Community High School, Class of 1960, and the University of Illinois, in 1964, where she majored in Elementary Education. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Social Sorority, and she remained friends with some of her sorority sisters throughout her lifetime.
 

Rhoda was a retired kindergarten and second grade teacher, having taught in Elmhurst, Illinois and District 27 in Lincoln, mainly at Adams School. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, and the University of Illinois Alumnae Association. She was an avid Illini football and basketball fan. She enjoyed fishing for catfish, especially at Lake of the Ozarks, working in her yard, baking and cooking, and spending some of the winter weeks in Florida.

Memorial donations can be made to Glioblastoma Brain Cancer Research Foundation or Forst Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
