- Darlene E. Gleason, 98, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Wednesday,
May 6, 2026, at her home in Lincoln, with her family by her side.

Obituary
Darlene E. Gleason,
98, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 6,
2026, at her home in Lincoln, with her family by her
side.
Darlene was born on May 28, 1927, in Lincoln, IL,
the daughter of Grover and Hilda (Weisner) Perce.
She married George Petro, and he passed away in
1952. Darlene later married Patrick Gleason, and he
preceded her in death in 1983.
Darlene is survived by five children, George (Gail)
Petro, Dennis Gleason, Thomas Richard (Roxy)
Gleason, Terry Cooley, and Regina (Ronnie) Peters;
twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren,
and five great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first and
second husband; one daughter, Alvida Petro; one
sister, Virginia Mileham; six brothers; and her
daughter in law, Nitsi Gleason.
Darlene was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church
in Lincoln. She retired from Lehn and Fink in 1985.

Darlene was a strong
woman who loved her family gatherings. She enjoyed
gardening, was an avid pinochle player, and loved to
travel.
There will be no
services at this time. Memorials may be made in
Darlene’s memory to either St. Jude Children's
Hospital or American Cancer Society. Cremation Rites
have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
