[April 08, 2026]  ATLANTA - Robert Kevin Blythe, 73, of Atlanta, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Visitation:  Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home. 

Service:  Graveside Services and Burial will be held at the Keller Cemetery in Lovington on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Obituary

Robert Kevin Blythe, 73, of Atlanta, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Visitation will be held at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Masonic Rites will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside Services and Burial will be held at the Keller Cemetery in Lovington on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Robert Kevin Blythe was born June 25, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Robert Eugene and Ruie Moses Blythe. He was united in marriage to Jeannine Elder on December 15, 1979. She survives.

Kevin is also survived by children: Nanette (Keith) Mathews, Leslie (Sean) Masterson, and Josh (Michele) Brown; son-in-law Marshall Mikesell; grandchildren: Blade Mathews, Summer Mathews, Chuck Mathews, Emily Masterson, Jillian Masterson, Ellie Grace Masterson, Anna Mei Masterson, Molly Masterson, Cullen Masterson, Avarie Brown, Emmett Brown, Colton Bradshaw, Cameran (Erin) Bradshaw, Gracie Bradshaw, Josie Mikesell, and Rowan Mikesell; and great-granddaughter Julia Bradshaw; and one sister: Debra (Steven) Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Lori Mikesell.

Kevin graduated from Lovington High School and then Lakeland Community College. He had worked for Thermogas as a manager and for Armtech as an insurance adjuster and supervisor. He was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church and Atlanta Masonic Lodge #165 A.F. & A.M. where he had served as Master at least 14 times. Kevin loved raising horses and in his spare time worked with leather and repaired saddles. He volunteered with the Atlanta Fire Department and the Logan County Mounted Police, “The Posse.”

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
