[March 19, 2026]  LINCOLN - Jason A. Etherton, 50 , of Lincoln passed away on Monday, March 16,2026 at his home.

Service:  A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at his home.

Jason A. Etherton, 50 , of Lincoln passed away on Monday, March 16,2026 at his home.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at his home.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Jason Andrew Etherton was born on March 20,1975 in Bloomington the son of Harry Randall Etherton. He was united in marriage to Kelly Guffey-Hankins on May 1, 2022. She survives.

Also surviving are his stepchildren: Branden Schnieder and Harlan (Haden) Hankins III. One brother: Mark (Melody) Etherton, one sister: Tracy (Brian) Sager. Stepmother: Nancy Hoover. His nieces and nephews: Harmony Etherton, Rebecca (Aaron) Buchheit, and Gregory Amburgey .

He was preceded in death by his father.

Jason graduated from Olympia Community High School in 1993 and later from Lincoln College. He was employed by the State of Illinois in the Illinois Department of Revenue.

He was very passionate about music and loved playing his guitar. Nicotine Poetic and The Jay Cannon Project were two of many bands he played with.

He loved camping and sitting by the fire while entertaining family and friends. He also loved a good slot machine.

Memorials may be made to the Olympia High School Band Department.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
