- Elizabeth “Betty” Sparling, 98, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on
Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Brandel Care Center in Northbrook, IL.

Service:
A memorial mass for Betty will be held at 10:30 am
on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic
Church in Lincoln.

Elizabeth “Betty”
Sparling, 98, of Lincoln, IL, passed away on
Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Brandel Care Center in
Northbrook, IL.
Betty was born April 2, 1927, in Lincoln, IL, the
daughter of Victor and Anna (McMonagle) Pokorski.
She married William “Bud” Sparling on June 2, 1958,
in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Raul)
Rodriguez of Arlington Heights, IL; and her
grandson, Eric.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
Bud; her two brothers, and five sisters.
Betty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in
Lincoln. She was a retired employee of Lincoln
College. Betty loved crossword puzzles and watching
Illini basketball games. |
A memorial mass for
Betty will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 20,
2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln. A
rosary will take place prior to the service at 10:00
am, also at the church. Burial will follow the
memorial mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to Carroll
Catholic Schools - Lincoln.
