Obituary
Matthew “Matt” Olson,
34, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, February 22,
2026, at his home.
Matt was born on March 1, 1991, in Springfield, IL,
the son of Howard and Norma (Sanderfield) Olson. He
married Allie Shoultz on June 8, 2013, in New
Holland, IL.
Matt is survived by his wife and their children,
Madalynn, Kayden, Addyson, Korbyn, and Laykin; his
sisters, Dr. Kathryn (Carlos Beard) Olson and
Victoria (Justin Thomas) Olson; and his parents.
Matt graduated from Lanphier High School. He was an
Eagle Scout and Vigil member of the Order of the
Arrow. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and
member of the Elkhart Town Board, but his most
treasured role was that of a father, husband, and
son. |
Memorial services for
Matt will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 27,
2026, at Mt. Pulaski Christian Church. Visitation
will take place prior from 4:00 -7:00 pm, also at
the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to the Children of Matthew Olson account
at Longview Community Bank in Mt. Pulaski in his
memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mt. Pulaski.
