[January 02, 2026]  LINCOLN -  Lee Lynn Woods, 87, of Lincoln, IL., passed away December 29, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Visitation:  Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. until noon at Lincoln Christian Church

Service: Saturday, January 3, 2025, at noon at the church

Obituary

Lee Lynn Woods, 87, of Lincoln, IL., passed away December 29, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Lincoln Christian Church with funeral services following at 12 Noon. Cremation rites will then be accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Lee was born May 1, 1938, in Browns, IL., the son of Sherman Lee and Florence Annabelle (Myers) Woods. He married Ruth Klein on September 22, 1962, and they shared 63 loving years of marriage. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood., TX He was a man of faith, Ordained as a Minister of Christ in 1974 by his home church, First Christian Church of West Salem, IL. He practiced kindness and generosity all of his life. He was a faithful family member and a caregiver to many. Lee was a member of the Beacon Sunday School class at Lincoln Christian Church for over 45 years and served as class treasurer for many of those years. He was one of the first employees of Christian Homes Corporate Office in Lincoln, IL and served as Office Manager for 16 years. He retired from the State of Illinois after working for the Department of Insurance for 13 years. Lee was an avid Illini and St. Louis Cardinal's fan.
 

Survivors include his wife Ruth Woods, his sons Steve (Michelle) Woods and Tim (Tesha) Woods; grandchildren: Mitchell Woods, Mackenzie Woods, Jake (Malorie) Woods, Justin (Rachel) Woods, and Jaron Woods (fiancé Kylee Overton); great granddaughter Eden Woods; and niece Cara Rae (Jed) Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark Woods, and his sister Norma Bainum.

Memorial donations may be made to Harvest of Talents or to the family in care of Tim Woods.
