[December 30, 2025]  ATLANTA - Derrell O. Vannoy, 89, of Atlanta, passed away at his home on Monday, December 29, 2025.

Visitation:  Monday, January 5, 2026, from 9 - 11 a.m. at Eminence Christian Church.

Service:  Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the church.

Obituary

Derrell O. Vannoy, 89, of Atlanta, passed away at his home on Monday, December 29, 2025.

Services for Derrell will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Eminence Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Services officiated by Mr. Ron Otto. Burial will be on his family farm in rural Atlanta.

Derrell Otis Vannoy was born November 15, 1936, in Kenney, the son of Roy D. and Elverna Jones Vannoy. He was united in marriage to Nancy Kunesh on April 13, 1973. She survives.

Derrell is also survived by their children: Devin Vannoy, Johannes (Jessica) Vannoy, Landon (Tara) Vannoy, Amy Merreighn, and Mary Jo Vannoy; eleven grandchildren; and twin brother, Jerrell Vannoy.
He was preceded in death by three granddaughters; two sisters: Irene Leesman and Betty Batterton, and twin brothers Kenneth Vannoy and Carl Vannoy.

Derrell was born in Kenney and moved to rural Atlanta where he lived and worked on the family farm for 75 years. He also worked for various farmers in the area and the Logan County Cemetery District. Derrell was a member of Eminence Christian Church in rural Atlanta.

Memorials may be made to Atlanta Fire Department, Eminence Christian Church, or an organization of the donor’s choice.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
