Substance Use Prevention Coalition meets
[December 13, 2025]
The Substance Use Prevention Coalition (SUPC) met at Lincoln
Memorial Hospital on Thursday, November 11 to plan and discuss youth
substance use prevention initiatives. The meeting was led by Chestnut
Health Systems Prevention Specialist Grace Irvin and Lincoln Memorial
Hospital Community Health Coordinator Molly McCain. The mission of the
Substance Use Prevention Coalition is to promote awareness of substance
use disorder, prevent youth substance use, and improve access to
resources.
The primary item on the agenda for the SUPC December meeting was to
review potential candidates for key interviews to collect first-person
data on Logan County youth. Coalition members began by assessing
candidates from local school districts who may have the best access to
student concerns, behaviors, barriers, and resources. Members also
reviewed updated key informant interview questions for potential
candidates. Questions include what kind of trainings and resources would
be helpful for the interviewees who work closely with youth. Members set
a goal to contact key informants by February.
