Family Bowling Day focuses on recovery, wellness and fun

[March 17, 2026]
Sunday, March 15, Logan Mason County Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, Lincoln Memorial Hospital Community Health Collaborative and Lincoln Logan Crime Stoppers sponsored a family bowling day at Logan Lanes.

The family friendly event included bowling, connection and learning, highlighting healthy and positive lifestyle choices.

Grace Irvin, Chestnut Health Systems Prevention Specialist who works with the Recovery Oriented Systems of Care, said “we are trying to address the stigma around addiction recovery in the community.”

The mission of ROSC is “improving access to health, wellness and holistic recovery options for individuals with or risk of a diagnosis of Substance Use Disorders.” It also includes “educating and connecting Logan and Mason County residents to resources to reduce stigma and improve recovery options.

LMH Community Health Coordinator Molly McCain and Chestnut Health Systems Jeannette Davis had information about Memorial Behavioral Health and other resources. Their table had a Family Mental Health Break bag with books and activities. McCain said these bags have been available at the Lincoln Public Library and are constantly checked out.

Brochures at the tables included information about substance abuse recovery services, health services, mental health services, suicide prevention and various other resources.

At the far end of the bowling alley, Lincoln Logan Crime Stoppers served free hot dogs, chips and water. Several people also ordered food like fries and sodas.

Throughout the event, as families bowled, there were drawings for a variety of door prizes.

On the blustery day, time spent inside bowling and having fun seemed to be a popular draw for many families.
