Bee’s Floral and Landscaping celebrates 40 years in business
[March 09, 2026] On
March 15, 1986, Bee’s Floral and Landscaping was established by Lorrie
Boch Paige.
Lorrie said, “I opened my business back in 1986 at 229 S. Kickapoo where
the movie theater is now. I purchased the business from Doris Ritchhart,
and she passed away soon after.”
For two years before making the jump to start her own business, Paige
said, “I worked for Tom and Crystal Tibbs. They taught me everything I
know today.”
At one point, there were Lehners, Karen’s, Three Roses, Flowers by Tibbs
and Bee’s. Paige said, “our five shops kept Lincoln going.
When Paige started Bee’s, she said, “my dad and mom backed me up to get
me started in business on my own. My dad worked for me as my delivery
guy for a while. For years, my mom helped me on holidays as did my
mother-in-law.” In addition, “my mom actually worked for me for six
years after she retired as a beautician. I have had several different
employees over the last 40 years.”
Paige said, “I was uptown on the corner for a little over nine years
where I rented the building. Then we had ground out by our home that we
decided to build on and expand our business in 1995. We are now on the
East side of Lincoln.”
In 1983, Paige married Darrell Paige and she said, “we have two sons,
Daniel and Michael and five grandchildren. I will continue to serve
Lincoln and Logan County and our surrounding towns as long as my health
lets me.”

“I have honestly enjoyed working with this community for all these
years and am hoping to continue for many more years. I love the
people and love what I do. My hat’s off to you Lincoln and Logan
County. Thanks for a great 40 years.”
