The Open Horse Show brought many
beautiful horses and bedazzled Western shirts to the Logan County
fairgrounds on Saturday, August 8. A sunny morning greeted eventers
and spectators at the arena area that was plowed in the field next
to the race track to create eventing space for horse and rider to
compete.
Classes included Open Halter, Ranch Halter, Open Showmanship, Open
Walk-Trot Hunter Under Saddle, Open Hunter Under Saddle, Youth
Walk-Trot, Open Western Walk-Trot, Ranch Horse Walk-Trot, Open
Western Pleasure, Ranch Horse Pleasure, Youth Western Pleasure,
Color Western Pleasure, Junior Horse Pleasure (any tack), Senior
Horse Pleasure (any tack), and Ranch Country Pleasure. There was
also a special final class– Walk and Favorite Gait– open only to
Logan County residents. There were no entries for Lead Line (age 8
and under).

The Open Horse Show
superintendent was Julie McKinney with Gaynor Goodman, Kelly
Aylesworth, and Suzann Maxheimer assisting at the entry table.
Each class was awarded first through fifth place and total
premiums awarded amounted to $2,858. Congratulations to all
riders for a beautiful show!
