Lincoln Community High School
continued the tradition of a Homecoming assembly to introduce
students participating in fall extra-curricular activities on
Friday, September 20. After a shortened school schedule, the LCHS
band drumline marched through the hallways leading students to the
gymnasium for the assembly. The band continued to play while
students and teachers took their seats on the bleachers. Chris
Hammer welcomed the student body and thanked the band, as well as
the LCHS staff who had volunteered to make Homecoming week a
success. He then handed the microphone over to student emcees who
again welcomed everyone and announced the winners of the Dress-Up
Days contest and the Wacky Olympics. Seniors won both Homecoming
week contests, Juniors took second, freshmen won third, and
sophomores came in fourth.
The student emcees then began the introductions of the fall extra-curriculars
participants. Coaches and sponsors introduced their teams and clubs
to the crowd beginning with Girls Golf and continuing with Boys
Golf, FFA, Boys Soccer, Fall Play, Girls Tennis, Cross Country,
Volleyball, and Football. The Pom Squad was then introduced and
performed a dance routine, followed by introductions of the football
Cheerleaders, who also performed cheers and dance. Then some
talented members of the football team joined the cheerleaders for a
fun choreographed routine of dance, lifts, and kicklines.
