On Saturday afternoon, the Logan
County Farm Bureau Young Leaders hosted its annual Atlanta Fall
Festival Kiddie Tractor pull in front of the pavilion stage in the
city park. This year there were 16 youngsters participating in three
weight classes.

The classes for the event are
established according to the child’s weight, with the lightweight
class being children weighing up to 45 pounds. The middle weight
class is for those weighing 46 to 64 pounds and the heavy weight is
for those weighing 65 to 100 pounds.
Children qualifying for the lightweight class included Lyla Leisman,
Lane Leisman, Memphis Hallstein, Wesley Lindoerfer and Joseph
Demling.

The lightweight class included
children who had participated in previous pulls but also those who
were involved in the competition for the first time. All five
children did a remarkable job and received lots of cheering and
compliments from the crowd gathered to watch the event.
However, it was sibling rivalry at its best for Lyla and Lane
Leisman. The day began with Lyla being first to peddle her way down
the track for a full pull. Emcee Abby Coers announced that because
Lyla was the first puller, there would be additional weight added to
the sled and at the end of the class she would pull again. However,
her brother Lane was the second puller and even with the added
weight was not to be outdone by his sister. He also had a full pull.
Memphis Hallstein went 16.7 feet, Wesley Lindoerfer pulled 4.10 feet
and Joseph Demling took the sled 10.1 feet.
With the class completed, it was announced that there would once
again be a little more weight added to the sled and Lyla and Lane
would have a pull off to establish first and second place in the
class.
However, that pull off resulted in full pulls again for both of the
youngsters.

So, again, weight was added and the two took to the peddles once
again. This time, the weight slowed Lyla down just a bit and her
final pull of the day measured approximately 29 feet. Lame however,
made another full pull and consequently bested his sister to take
home the first place trophy.
In the lightweight class the top three finishers were:

Third place, Memphis
Hallstein

Second Place, Lyla Leisman

First place, Lane Leisman
In the middleweight class there
were no full pulls although all the children made impressive shows.
The five participants in the order they pulled were Arilynn Irwin,
Maddie Hoblit, Carson Charron, Colton Tucker and Emmet Wibbon.

Peters.

Owen Wibben, Luke Leisman, Wyatt
Charron and Levi Leisman each had full pulls. Connor Peters drug the
sled 25.2 feet while Caleb Hoblit pulled 29.3 feet.

In the pull off Levi Leisman
again had a full pull earning him the first place trophy

a pull of 36.8 feet.

Owen Wibben was the third place
finisher with a total pull of 31.4 feet.

Congratulations to all 16 participants who did an outstanding job

the tent.
