Saturday breakfast at the Masonic Lodge

[August 31, 2026]

The Lincoln Masonic Lodge #210 held their annual breakfast that coincides with the Balloons Over 66 Weekend. The breakfast was held at the Masonic lodge at 2022 N Kickapoo Street in Lincoln. The breakfast ran from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Inside there were many tables set up for people to eat at. Neople were welcome to eat and able to get food to-go. According to Nelson Gulso, a local member of the Masons, there had been a “steady to-go crowd.”

When someone arrived, they walked to the front of the room and paid the cashier $10 per meal. They then went to the window with a tray and were served their breakfast, which consisted of eggs, biscuits and gravy, and two sausage patties. If it was a to-go meal, it was served in a foam box. Those who were sticking around had the option of having some tea, water, or a cup of coffee.

Gulso was serving the food, but he was far from the only Mason present. The others working were Galen Wickline, Jay Gaydosh, Alan Griffith, Tom Rowland, Gary Nodine, and Nick Fleshman. The men were taking turns swapping jobs.

They also seemed to be in high spirits. They could be heard joking around with each other and laughing as they were cooking and serving. They were very kind and cordial to everyone who came through, making conversation and keeping the atmosphere light.
