If you need clothes for your
growing child, head to Lincoln’s First United Methodist Church kids
closet on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Located in the church’s resource room on the second floor, the kids
closet can be accessed by going through the elevator entrance.

Kay Thompson and members of her
small group started the kids closet, which provides free clothing
for boys and girls from birth to size eight.

With the ever changing weather in
Illinois, they have seasonal clothing. Right now, it is stocked with
summer clothes, but warmer clothes will be available as temperatures
get colder.

In addition, they have free baby
wipes and diapers of various sizes. Thompson said their stock of
diapers and wipes is getting low, so donations are needed.
Those who do not need clothes may donate kids clothing during their
open hours on Tuesdays.
If you are unable to go during the listed hours on Tuesdays, you can
call 217-732-2204 daily before noon to reserve a time.
As Reverend Dr. Bine B. Peniel said, the church is trying to reach
the community.
