Lincoln Community Theatre Presents a Colorful, Crowd-Pleasing Production of Classic Musical “Guys and Dolls”

[July 24, 2025]

Lincoln Community Theatre (LCT) will present its second and final show of the 2025 summer season this weekend. Audiences are invited to enjoy Guys and Dolls, the classic Broadway musical that includes favorite songs such as “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat!” Guys and Dolls is directed by veteran actor and theater director Derry Dalby, most recently seen with LCT in last summer’s production of “Godspell" and in the 2022 production of The Wizard of Oz as the Cowardly Lion. Dalby says of Guys and Dolls, “This show is awesome! Everyone has worked so hard!”

Guys and Dolls is described as a “musical fable of Broadway” and based on characters and stories by Damon Runyon with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. According to Music Theatre International, “Guys and Dolls is a classic oddball romantic comedy! Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.”

The talented cast of Guys and Dolls includes both LCT alumni and actors who are new to Lincoln’s community theater. The cast features leads Dave Helm as Sky Masterson, Alison Knapik as Sarah Brown, Jeff Prince as Nathan Detroit, and Jill Usherwood as Miss Adelaide. Supporting roles include Elijah Sadler as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Brian Bolton as Benny Southstreet, Jonathan Zemsky as Arvide Abernathy, Zach Chapman as Rusty Charlie, Sheralyn Bolton as General Cartwright/Mimi, Curt Schleich as Lieutenant Brannigan, Mason Beltz as Harry the Horse, Jimmy Tapocik as Big Jule, Andy Brant as Angie the Ox, Josh Hellman as the Master of Ceremonies, Abby Smith as Agatha, and Mike Koke as Joey Biltmore. The ensemble includes Grant Eales, Ryne Manuel, Faith Palmer, Sophia Wilkerson, Hailee Rempe, Raegen Lough, Alaina Taylor, Jacqueline Keysear, Stephanie Hall, Autumn Zollinger, Cari Wilmert, Kambrea McCree, and Paige Zemsky.
