Friday, May 9, Mt. Pulaski kicked
off the 2025 summer season with its Second Friday on the Square. The
free event lasted from 6 - 9 p.m. and had vendors, live music, food
and drinks, and activities for kids.
This month’s theme was Makin’ Magic and one of the evening’s
activities was a magic show.

Vendors were selling tie dye
outfits, jewelry, collectibles and boutique apparel. The vendors
included Theo's Crafting Emporium, Lighted Luxury Candles & Scents,
PT'z Tshirts, Hats and More, Designs by Angi/The Pink Peony, Roots
and Relics and You are Fashion Boutique. Vidalia onions were being
sold by the Logan County Shrine Club.

Businesses with tents set up
included Green Chevy, AAA Window Siding Roofing, Longview Community
Bank, T-Mobile, Prairieland Golf and Utility Cart and Honda
scooters.

Additionally, downtown businesses
like Market on the Hill, Pizza Man and the Old Brickyard Grill and
Pub were open.


Jason Bassett’s band took the stage
at 6, playing classic rock.

The family friendly event also had
many activities for children such as a space moon bounce house, box
maze, a color and craft Station and bubbles by Salonat102.
Isaac Bell made balloon animals, hats, swords and flowers by
request.

There were also yard games like a
giant Connect Four and nine square.

explains the yellow scarf trick
From 7-8 Andrew's Family Magic performed a magic show for kids.
Besides tricks like turning a scarf into flowers, the magician
showed the audience how a yellow scarf trick was done.

Food trucks included Tacos
Tochimilco, Becks concessions, the Munch Box, Davis Mini Donuts, We
Three Sweets, Kona Ice and Homemade by Lori Hagan.
With taco, corn dogs, pulled pork, mac and cheese, nachos, fries,
donuts, sugar floss, cookies and flavored shaved ice, there was a
variety of food offerings to satisfy many people.
The evening’s activities were made possible by sponsors Mt Pulaski
Economic Development Planning Board, Logan County Tourism, and Rise
Broadband.
On this nice evening, Mt. Pulaski’s Second Friday on the Square
provided a fun filled night with something for people of all ages.
