athletes have a great showing at the 2024 Illinois Top Times Indoor
Meet
Becca Heitzig wins both the 800m and the 1600m
Saturday, March 23, 2024 was a terrific day for LCHS track athletes
at the Illinois Top Times Indoor Track & Field Classic at Illinois
Wesleyan University.
Nobody from Lincoln, however, had a better day on the track than
senior elite track star, Becca Heitzig.
Heitzig won the 2A 800m with a time of 2:12.86 and then turned
around to win the 1600m with a time of 5:04.13.
Iowa State University is getting the best of the best next season
when Heitzig arrives on campus at Ames, Iowa!
The other guys:
A handful of LCHS male athletes competed Saturday at IWU and they
also did outstanding on the track.
Senior Ben Crombie finished in 4th place in the 800m with a time of
2:00.40.
Junior Parker Campbell finished in 6th place in the 60m hurdles with
a mark of 8.52.
The 4x400m relay team of Braxton Eilertson, Luke Jones, Ben Crombie
and Kani Carson finished in 5th place with a time of 3:34.30.
