On Monday, the Lincoln letters arrived and then on Tuesday came the oversized donut. Both items were installed in the parking lot adjacent to Mel-O-Cream Donuts near downtown Lincoln.

The two large installments, plus a number of wayside signs including one in the Lincoln Welcome Garden, are part of the latest Route 66 attractions placed in the community by the Logan County Tourism Bureau.

The letters and donut will add another new backdrop for Route 66 traveler selfies. In addition, at the right angle those selfies might also include in their background the new Lincoln Mural on the wall of the Rio Grande Restaurant.

Still in the works are a number of watermelon shaped benches that will be placed in various parks and other attractions around town. Look for those to arrive soon.
